No longer able to bear the humiliation of being shy, 13-year-old Rose arrives at school with her face hidden behind a black mask of horror. Her mother, Jeanne, who is just as shy as her daughter, is confronted with the judgments and is drawn into a descent into hell, where the only way out is to tear off Rose's mask.
